It was created by Gary Casteel for the Living History Association of Mecklinburg North Carolina.
The monument is located on Wise’s farm in Fox’s Gap about 1000 feet south of the Garland and Reno monuments along Reno Monument Road, in Middletown, Maryland, and was dedicated on October 18, 2003.
I was commissioned and sculpted the monument after which it was dedicated in 2003 and the replica shown was produced to raise funds to pay for the installation. There were 600 pieces, with only 150 remaining, therefore, the S/N edition begins with 451/600.
