This is a RARE set of four teddy bears handmade by Merrythought numbered "280 APR" in a seasonal Limited Edition set of only 1,000 sets. On the side of each original box, it says "A Bear for each season. Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter are all captured by four different 14 inch Pure Mohair Teddy Bears (known respectively as Blossum, Sunshine, Teacher's Pet and Jingle) each with his or her own particular fashion. This Edition is limited to just 1,000 pieces per season and every Teddy Bear is indelibly numbered and signed by Merrythought's Chairman Mr. B. T. Holmes."
Each of the four bears is five-way jointed, has a different color, is dressed differently, and is about 14 inches (36 cm) tall. They each have their individual name tag sewn onto their clothes, and a Merrythought tag with the No.00208 of 1,000 Only and Mr. Holmes's handwritten signature on it. They also have the classic original yellow cloth tag on the bottom of the right foot reads “Merrythought, IRONBRIDGE SHROPS, Made in England” (indicating an early Merrythought Bear). Their noses are vertically stitched, they have black eyes, and the classic Merrythought stiched v-shape mouths, and have felt paw pads.
It appears that there are two girl bears and two boy bears. Starting with the girls, Blossom the Spring bear a white bear. She is wearing a pink dress and bonnet, and carrying a basket of flowers. Her outfit makes her look quite young. Sunshine the Summer bear is light tan and wears a cute yellow sun suit and a straw hat with flowers on it. The first boy bear, Teacher's Pet, is the Fall bear and is a brown bear wearing a white shirt, black jacket, a polka dot bowtie, and an upturned straw hat with a brown ribbon. He is quite the dresser and carries a bright red apple for his teacher...that has a worm in it! Jingle, the Winter bear, wears a Christmas outfit - red vest, red plaid bowtie, and long Santa hat. He is carrying a large shiny golden color bell.
Each season, Merrythought changed the bears appearances, so this set is only for this year. How unique is that!
This set comes from a smoke free, pet free environment and was never displayed or played with.
These amazing teddy bears are made of the finest quality materials and to the most exacting of British workmanship! This four bear set comes from a smoke free, pet free home. They have never been displayed or played with.
