The photo is a representation of the food safe round dough bowl you will receive. Hand carved, these chubster deep, round wooden dough bowls(bateas) with handles are solid and great looking. Because these are food safe and we have to add a sealer, they will be a little shiny at first. But with time and use, that will diminish. This one measures about 14-16" wide. The depth on this beautiful bowl is about 5-7 inches. We have had a lot of requests for bowls that are food safe. Happy to say we have finally done that. We have added 5 coats of food safe sealer to these round bowls.  Understand that because of the food safe sealer, they will be a little shiny when you receive them. But with time and use, that will definitely diminish. The patina we achieve on the them is beautiful. NOTE: Please understand that these bowls are a natural handmade product and will never be "perfect" That is what makes them rustic and beautiful. Tone, smoothness, shape,etc, all rustic and never machine made. Please keep that in mind when you buy these. Also, if you have an issue with your item, let us resolve it.
