    Description

Rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a Norwich Terrier lying on the grave of his master, presumably mourning the loss. SInce this was the 1870s it was probably then called a Norfolk Terrier, with the breeds later being divided by ear shape (pricked ears or drop ears).
The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area fills about half of the page and measures about 8 x 6 inches, with a French caption below. The text on the page could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print.
See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
