Description
An original Civil War Confederate related letter that belonged to George C. Freeman. I looked up George C. Freeman online and it said he was a soldier in the Chatham Artillery during the war. This letter is addressed to a Mr. Freeman, I think it is either him or a relative of his. In one area it looks like it says,....that greatest of soldiers Robert E. Lee......... It looks like it could be spelled Robert S. Lee, however I think this was a mistake. I think this letter was written sometime after the war when he was a civilian. I currently have other items listed that belonged to this individual. The letter has wear and stain marks.
