    Merida is a painter and muralist originally from Guatemala who later becomes a Mexican. He was born in Guatemala on December 2, 1891 and died in Mexico City on December 21, 1984.
    In 1922 he collaborated with Diego Rivera and joined the group of Mexican muralists, for a year later together with Diego, Orozco and Siquieros to create the Union of Workers, Technicians, Painters and Sculptors.
