55 56 57 CHEVROLET NOMAD LIFTGATE SUPPLEMENTAL WEATHERSTRIP
A new supplemental weatherstrip for the liftgate on a 55-57 Nomad station wagon. The Nomad was very stylish but had a major design flaw, the upper liftgate always leaked. They leak because the lift gate had the drip rail in the gate rather than the roof and because the liftgate was made of potmetal, it had a tendency to warp from it's own weight and not provide a good seal to the body. Chevrolet developed a fix to this problem by using a second rubber seal on the liftgate. This supplemental seal glues onto the liftgate, not the body.
